In her work, Paulina Domasauskaitė explores the intersections of archetypal cultural memory and individual imagination, developing themes of the fictitiousness of images and representations, the fragility of memory, and the transformations of imagination. Painting becomes a way for her to capture and recreate the realities of inner and collective images, in which personal experiences and fragments of cultural archives intertwine.

Her painting style varies between generalized, abstract expression and detailed, precisely rendered representation. Spontaneous sketching and the freedom of improvisation are important elements of her practice, while at the same time she maintains a constructive focus on structure, composition, and color choices. Her works are influenced by nature, poetry, music, theater, photography, and cinema. These different disciplines come together in a unified visual language. Observing nature becomes a starting point for unexpected color experiments, while studies of ancient cultures and classical art history provide a solid theoretical foundation, combining emotional intensity with intellectual content.

Through her creative process, which often involves applying multiple layers of paint to reflect the passage of time, Domasauskaitė aims to create an evocative atmosphere. Ultimately, she seeks to invite viewers into a shared space of reflection, evoking a sense of curiosity and deep nostalgia for places and memories they may never have physically experienced.
